A lot of information is found on mobile phones every day. All kinds of information are exchanged through Line, Facebook and Instagram. The Happiness Seeker is a short fictional story accidentally sent to the authors via Line and told in Thai. This tale resembles a fable in that it describes animal characters that represent human conditions and behavior and their problems. Despite its brevity and simplicity, the story is a well-structured whole that builds tension and resolves it in a final punch line. The main purpose of the narration is not only for instruction but also for pleasure. For these reasons it is interesting to use this story in German lessons. The aim of this work is to show how the story The Happiness Seeker can be used tangibly and systematically in German lessons for advanced beginners. A step-by-step teaching model is created to show how the language skills of the learners can be developed.
